Who are we?

Hi, it's nice to meet you.

At Bloom, we’re a passionate, down-to-earth bunch who believe in the power of connection, creativity, and curiosity. Our team is made up of behaviour support practitioners, therapy assistants, and allied health professionals who are all here for the same reason — to walk alongside individuals and families in a way that’s respectful, empowering, and, above all, human.

We’re not about cookie-cutter solutions. We take the time to get to know the people we work with — their strengths, struggles, goals, and quirks — and tailor everything we do to meet them where they’re at. Whether it’s supporting communication, building emotional regulation skills, navigating social relationships, or just helping someone feel safe and seen in the world, our work is grounded in evidence and guided by compassion.

Behind the scenes, our team is constantly collaborating, reflecting, and sharing a laugh (or a cuppa) as we learn and grow together.

Most importantly, we’re proud of the trust placed in us by the families and communities we work with. We don’t take that lightly. Every member of our team — from our seasoned clinicians to our incredible therapy assistants and admin stars — brings warmth, integrity, and a deep commitment to the people we support.

Come meet us. We’d love to welcome you into the Bloom community.

New South Wales Clinical Team

Clinical Director/Principal Practitioner - Ashlee deRooy, CBA

Ashlee is a Certified Behaviour Analyst (CBA) and Advanced Specialist Behaviour Support Practitioner based in the Northern Rivers, NSW, also offering some remote support for families across Australia. She brings 15 years of experience in disability and education, with a deep commitment to person-centred, neuro-affirming practice shaped by both professional training and lived experience.

Ashlee’s career began in adult disability support before moving into autism early intervention while studying her Bachelor of Psychology. Since then, she’s held roles as behaviour therapist, program supervisor, clinical director, and national trainer with ABIA (now Autism Pathways). In 2019, she completed a Master’s in Applied Behaviour Analysis and went on to consult for the Victorian Department of Education and Training, supporting teachers to better understand and respond to diverse student needs across mainstream and specialist settings.

At Bloom, Ashlee supports individuals of all ages and needs, with particular expertise in:

  • Autism and ADHD
  • Paediatrics and early childhood development
  • Supporting adults with intellectual disability
  • Clinical supervision, leadership and professional development

Her approach blends science with compassion, and she brings a deeply personal understanding of what it means to navigate systems as both a clinician and as someone with insight into neurodivergent experiences — including within her own family. She is passionate about helping others uncover their strengths, communicate their needs, and feel safe to be fully themselves.

Outside of Bloom, Ashlee lives a joyful and chaotic off-grid life with her three young children, a pet pig, chickens, ducks, and a collection of creative hobbies. She’s happiest sewing, making art, planning adventures locally and abroad, or soaking up the wild beauty of the Northern Rivers.

Occupational Therapist - Ash Loane

Ash is an Occupational Therapist based in the Northern Rivers, supporting children and families across clinic, school, home, and community environments. She works in a neuro-affirming and family-centred way, supporting children to build confidence, connection, regulation, independence, and participation within their everyday lives.

Having grown up in the rural Northern Rivers and now raising her own young family here, Ash is deeply passionate about improving access to meaningful and collaborative supports for rural children and families. Kyogle has always held a special place in her heart — fun fact: Ash was Kyogle Show Princess in 1991 — and she’s excited to now be supporting local families within the community she grew up in.

Ash supports children across a range of developmental, emotional and functional areas, including:

  • emotional regulation
  • sensory processing
  • executive functioning
  • fine and gross motor development
  • daily living skills
  • school participation and engagement

She takes a holistic approach to therapy and believes meaningful support starts with truly understanding the whole child — their strengths, interests, environment, relationships, challenges, and the people around them. Her goal is always to create supports that feel practical, achievable, and sustainable within real family life.

Before becoming an Occupational Therapist, Ash worked for many years within fast-paced operational and emergency response environments, developing strong skills in communication, systems thinking, problem solving, and remaining calm under pressure — strengths which continue to shape her clinical work today.

As both an OT and a parent within a neurodivergent family, Ash brings lived understanding of the joys, challenges and constant juggling that can come with busy family life. She understands that every family operates differently and is passionate about helping families build realistic routines, systems and supports that work for the whole family — not just on paper.

Outside of work, Ash’s happy place is anywhere near water, especially at the beach. She also loves exploring the rainforest (particularly on rainy days) and strongly believes that when life feels overwhelming or dysregulated, getting outside and reconnecting with nature can help everyone feel a little more grounded again.

Clinical Director - Danieka Marollas, CBA

Danieka is a Certified Behaviour Analyst (CBA) and NDIS registered Behaviour Support Practitioner based in the outer suburbs of Melbourne. She began her career as an ABA therapist in 2015 in Melbourne, primarily in center-based intervention as a lead-therapist. In 2018 she moved into private program supervision supporting many clients across the south-western suburbs, where she continues to work now. She has a bachelor degree in psychology and then in 2020 went on to complete her master in education (ABA) at Monash University whilst building her little family complete with husband, 2 children, and 3 dogs. Danieka's expertise is with pre-school aged children with autism, and her top passions involve setting up and facilitating social groups, and compassionately supporting parents on their personal journey's.

Out of Bloom, Danieka has two young children, who take up all of her focus. She loves to spend time with family and friends, plan the best events, sew and design.
